Amorim's Manchester United Ideas 'Not Implemented' Says Assistant

Ruben Amorim's former assistant at Manchester United claims the Portuguese manager was never given a fair chance to implement his vision at Old Trafford. Adelio Candido, who worked alongside Amorim during his 14-month tenure, says the 41-year-old coach needed more time to establish his methods at the club.

Amorim was sacked in January after winning just 38.1% of his matches across all competitions, with a dismal record of less than a third of his 47 Premier League games resulting in victories. The former assistant, speaking to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, suggested that while Amorim appreciated Manchester's football culture and passionate fanbase, he felt frustrated that his tactical ideas weren't fully embraced.

Sources indicate that beyond poor results, a breakdown in Amorim's relationship with director of football Jason Wilcox contributed to his departure. Candido defended his former boss, saying every coaching experience provides valuable lessons regardless of outcome. The assistant's comments highlight ongoing tensions about United's managerial decisions and raise questions about whether the club's impatient approach is undermining its long-term progress.
