The New York Rangers are finalizing a deal to send veteran forward Vincent Trocheck to the Utah Mammoth. Sources confirmed the trade Wednesday, which sends the 32-year-old to the Western Conference with three years remaining on his contract. This move signals a significant shift for the Rangers, who had been discussing a Trocheck trade since last season.

In return, New York acquired defenseman Sean Durzi, prospect Cole Beaudoin, and a 2027 third-round pick. Durzi, 27, is expected to bolster the Rangers' blueline and contribute on the power play, fitting into a $24 million contract signed in 2024. Beaudoin, a 2024 first-round pick, had a productive OHL season with 88 points.

Trocheck's departure follows GM Chris Drury's January announcement of a team retool. The Rangers are looking to upgrade their defense, with reports indicating they are also pursuing Marcus Pettersson. Trocheck represented a core player alongside Artemi Panarin, who was previously traded, impacting the team's leadership group and offensive depth.
