Despite the regular season expanding from 82 to 84 games, Monday features just four contests. The highlight pits the rising San Jose Sharks against the Western Conference powerhouse Dallas Stars. Dallas enters the game riding a five-year playoff streak, including three Western Conference Finals appearances, while San Jose last played postseason hockey in 2019.
Key divisional matchups also headline the night, with Philadelphia visiting Tampa Bay and Ottawa heading to Boston. In net, Pittsburgh relies on inexperienced goaltenders Arturs Silovs and Sergei Murashov after Connor Hellebuyck requested a trade from Winnipeg. Winnipeg's Kyle Connor leads the offense with a goal and an assist, while Evgeni Malkin paces Pittsburgh with two goals and two assists.
Earlier, Gabe Perreault scored his second Rangers goal just 47 seconds into the season. Fans can stream all action via the NHL streaming hub and ESPN App.
