Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton finalized a two-year, $11 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, per ESPN NFL reporting. The deal includes a maximum value of $14 million through incentives. Thornton, 25, had a breakout 2025 season, tallying 438 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 19 catches in 14 games.

His elite speed and chemistry with Patrick Mahomes on deep routes made him a standout contributor despite limited playing time early in the year. Thornton joined the Chiefs via their practice squad in late 2024 after a underwhelming stint with the New England Patriots (2022-2024). He caught just 39 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns in 28 games with the Patriots.

The Chiefs’ decision to retain him signals confidence in his role as a slot receiver and red-zone target, though his snaps dipped after Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy returned from injuries. ESPN’s Nate Taylor contributed to this report.
