Washington Commanders left tackle Laremy Tunsil suffered a torn triceps during Saturday's practice, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Steve Wyche. The injury, sustained in a one-on-one drill against Odafe Oweh, will likely require surgery and sideline Tunsil for at least four months, possibly six to seven.

Tunsil, 32, was the highest-rated Commander in ESPN's recent executive survey and signed a two-year extension in the offseason worth $61.5 million in guarantees, making him the first offensive lineman to average $30 million per season.

The Commanders traded four draft picks to Houston for Tunsil in the 2025 offseason. His absence is a major blow to an offense that recently signed Stefon Diggs. Veterans Andrew Wylie and Brandon Coleman, who started 15 games at left tackle in 2024-25, are expected to fill the gap.

Washington was coming off a 5-12 season but showed increased energy in camp following their 2024 NFC Championship Game appearance.
