The Houston Texans have signed kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn to a two-year, $13 million contract extension, making him the NFL's highest-paid kicker with a $6.5 million average annual salary. His agency Athletes First announced the deal, which comes after Fairbairn led the league in field goal attempts and makes during the 2025 season.

Fairbairn was entering the final year of his previous contract and has been a cornerstone of Houston's special teams. He converted 44 of 48 field goal attempts for a 91.7% success rate while going a perfect 28-for-28 on extra points. His 22 kickoff touchbacks ranked fourth in the league, showcasing his value beyond just field goals.

This extension continues the Texans' aggressive offseason approach to retaining key players. Houston recently signed All-Pro defensive end Danielle Hunter to a $40 million deal and extended tight end Dalton Schultz for $12.6 million. Fairbairn's new contract surpasses Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's previous record of $6.4 million average annual salary, cementing his status as the NFL's premier kicker.
