Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton announced Monday he will speak with free agent Taysom Hill to assess his interest in continuing his NFL career, potentially with the Broncos. Payton, who previously coached Hill for five seasons with the New Orleans Saints, plans to meet with the versatile player in Canton, Ohio, during the upcoming Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Drew Brees.

Payton emphasized that his conversation with Hill, who will turn 36 later this month, will focus on the player's health and mental readiness to play. Hill, a former Saints player for nine years, did not have his contract renewed this offseason and has indicated that a return to New Orleans is unlikely.

Hill, known for his multi-positional contributions, played in 13 games last season after recovering from a knee injury. He recorded 11 receptions, 114 rushing yards, and one passing touchdown. Notably, the Broncos' head physician, Dr. Karim Meijer, performed Hill's knee surgery in 2024, and Hill has since had follow-up visits in Denver. Hill is one of only four players in NFL history with at least 10 career touchdowns in rushing, receiving, and passing categories, a feat previously achieved by Hall of Famer Frank Gifford.
