Ravens' Tyler Loop Misses Two FGs in Preseason Loss

Ravens kicker Tyler Loop missed two field goal attempts in a 41-3 preseason victory over the Washington Commanders on Friday night, drawing boos at M&T Bank Stadium and raising questions about his job security. Loop is seeking to recover from last season's last-second 44-yard miss that ended Baltimore's playoff hopes. After missing from 51 and 58 yards, he finished the preseason 5-of-8.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter, who had backed Loop all offseason, expressed concern post-game: "You want to see makes in games... it's something we'll continue to look at." The team showed confidence by not signing a competing kicker during camp, but Minter remained noncommittal about bringing in help before the Sept. 13 opener. Loop, the only kicker ever drafted by the Ravens, was 30-of-34 as a rookie but struggled on long kicks last season. He acknowledged his performance was "not good enough" but remains confident in his practice form and ball-striking ability.
