Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua said, “it never crossed my mind” not to attend training camp despite a contract year. He cited teammate support after a March lawsuit alleged he made an “unprovoked antisemitic statement” and bit a woman. “Football is a safe place for me,” he added, noting his jersey No. 12 hung in his locker is not taken for granted.

Nacua has no legal update. His attorney, Levi McCathern, said he denies the allegations “in the strongest possible terms.” When asked if the lawsuit distracts him, Nacua replied, “I wouldn’t say so.”

Rams head coach Sean McVay praised Nacua’s accountability, saying he wants him to stay a positive influence on and off the field. McVay noted the contract will handle itself as Nacua matures, hoping for a long tenure.

A fifth‑round pick in 2023, Nacua enters the final season of his rookie contract. Last season he had 129 catches for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns.
