Giants’ Edge Rusher Carter Out After Ankle Twist

Jordan Raanan reports that New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter left Monday’s minicamp early after twisting his ankle. The second‑year player, the No. 3 pick in 2025, walked off the field with a minor injury that the coaching staff says is not serious.

Carter, who finished his rookie year seventh in the league with 72 quarterback pressures, had a tough first season, spending time on the bench for tardiness and missed meetings. The Giants are counting on him to make a larger impact in 2026.

Meanwhile, running back Cam Skattebo returned to drills after a brutal ankle injury last October. Skattebo, who posted 410 rushing yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, has been cleared to play in training camp and aims for a Week 1 start.

With minicamp wrapping Wednesday and training camp slated for late July, the Giants must decide how to balance Carter’s limited availability with Skattebo’s comeback as they shape their roster for the upcoming season.
