New York Giants defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris tore his Achilles tendon during Thursday's OTA workout and will miss the entire 2026 season. The 32-year-old was taking first-team reps at the indoor practice when he reached for the back of his right leg, immediately signaling distress. This represents a significant setback for the Giants defense as they were already rebuilding their interior line.

Robertson-Harris was entering the second year of his $9.25 million contract and had started 17 games last season, recording 35 tackles and six quarterback hits. The injury compounds New York's defensive line challenges after trading Dexter Lawrence II to Cincinnati last month. Giants coach John Harbaugh acknowledged the difficulty but expressed confidence in the team's ability to adapt to the situation.

New York has signed veterans DJ Reader, Shelby Harris and Leki Fotu to help fill the void, while also relying on second-year player Darius Alexander and sixth-round pick Bobby Jamison-Travis. Robertson-Harris has played 134 career games with 79 starts since going undrafted from UTEP in 2016. The Giants now face the challenge of replacing a proven veteran who provided stability on their defensive front.
