FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Jack Strand, an undrafted rookie quarterback from Division II Minnesota State-Moorhead, is currently taking first-team reps for the Atlanta Falcons during training camp.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound QB has completed 21-of-31 passes in 11-on-11 sessions over four practices. His unexpected rise comes as starters Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. recover from injuries, with veteran Cooper Rush gradually taking more first-team work.

Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski praised Strand's football IQ and ability to command the offense. "He's a very, very bright young man," Stefanski said. Linebacker Kendal Daniels, taken in the fourth round, noted the stark contrast in their experiences, saying, "I couldn't imagine being in his spot right now."

Despite coming from a lower division, Strand's pro-level arm strength and intellect caught the Falcons' attention. All-Pros Kyle Pitts and Drake London have both complimented his performance, with London calling him a "tank" who's "doing a great job."
