Falcons lock up starting left guard Matthew Bergeron with a four‑year extension worth $96 million and $60 million guaranteed. Bergeron, 26, was a second‑round pick in 2023 out of Syracuse and has started every game at left guard for the team.

General manager Ian Cunningham said Bergeron is the type of player you build around. He’s establishing himself as one of the top young guards in the NFL, and his toughness, consistency and leadership make him a cornerstone of the Falcons’ offensive line and culture.

Bergeron is the third player to sign an extension in the past two months, joining wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts. The Falcons still need to reach a deal with running back Bijan Robinson, but Bergeron’s contract solidifies the core as the team looks toward the future.
