Atlanta Falcons rookie James Pearce Jr. faces multiple felony charges after allegedly crashing his vehicle into one driven by WNBA player Rickea Jackson multiple times and striking a police officer while evading arrest. The incident occurred Saturday morning in Florida, where Pearce reportedly followed Jackson in his white Lamborghini SUV after their recent breakup.

According to the criminal complaint, Jackson told police she saw Pearce following her car and accelerated toward a police station when he attempted to open her driver's side door at a red light. Pearce allegedly collided with her vehicle several times during the pursuit, including a head-on collision when she tried to escape. Doral police officers responded to Jackson's call and found Pearce standing outside his SUV before he fled, striking an officer in the knee.

The Falcons issued a statement saying they were gathering information about the incident. Pearce, who finished third in AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting just days before his arrest, had set a Falcons rookie record with 10.5 sacks in 2025. He was released from custody Sunday night after posting a $20,500 bond.
