Heather Mc Phee, former associate general counsel for the NFL Players Association, has settled her federal lawsuit against the union and several executives. Mc Phee alleged conspiracy to prevent her cooperation with a criminal inquiry into union finances and claimed retaliation for raising legal concerns.

Mc Phee was placed on paid administrative leave for alleged misconduct after expressing legal concerns about union leaders' decisions. She also claimed executives attempted to obstruct her testimony before a federal grand jury investigating the NFLPA. Her lawsuit, filed less than two weeks before her termination, named former executive director Lloyd Howell Jr., lead counsel Tom De Paso, and Matt Curtin, president of NFL Players Inc., as defendants, citing illegal misconduct, sex discrimination, breach of fiduciary duty, and retaliation.

Howell resigned last July amid reports of his alleged misuse of union funds for personal expenses, including strip club visits. The parties have requested a 30-day delay in court proceedings from U.S. District Judge Amir H. Ali to finalize the settlement terms.
