Eagles Lock In Goedert With $7M Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles have re-signed tight end Dallas Goedert to a one-year, $7 million contract, sources told ESPN. The deal includes a $4.25 million signing bonus and prevents the Eagles from taking a $20 million dead-cap hit that would have occurred when Goedert's previous contract expired Monday.

By securing Goedert, Philadelphia gains crucial financial flexibility as it navigates other roster decisions. The Eagles have been exploring trade options for wide receiver A.J. Brown, which could create a $40 million cap hit if completed before June 1 or around $20 million afterward. Goedert's return helps offset these potential financial impacts.

The 31-year-old tight end had been the subject of trade speculation last offseason before agreeing to a reworked deal that paid him $10 million in 2025. Goedert delivered a career-best season with 60 catches for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns, though his blocking consistency was questioned. The second-round pick from 2018 has accumulated 409 catches for 4,676 yards and 35 touchdowns over eight seasons with Philadelphia.
