The Kansas City Chiefs have inked veteran cornerback L'Jarius Sneed to a one‑year contract that can reach $5 million. The deal reunites Sneed with the club that drafted him in the fourth round of 2020. Agents the Katz Brothers confirmed the terms to ESPN, noting the move comes after the Titans released him in March, freeing $11.4 million in cap space. It carries $1.5 million guaranteed.

Sneed’s second stint follows a turbulent two‑year run in Tennessee, where he appeared in only 12 games and posted 26 tackles, three passes defended and two quad injuries that landed him on IR in 2025. A grand‑jury indictment for a misdemeanor related to a shooting incident was dropped in May, clearing his legal slate.

Kansas City reshaped its secondary this offseason, trading Trent McDuffie to the Rams and losing Jaylen Watson to free agency. The Chiefs also moved up in the 2026 draft for defensive back Mansoor Delane and added Kader Kohou and Kaiir Elam, and depth at the nickel position. Sneed’s experience and two Super Bowl rings give the revamped unit a proven veteran presence.
