Titans Cut L'Jarius Sneed, Save $11.4M in Cap Space

The Tennessee Titans are releasing cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, saving $11.4 million in salary cap space, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Sneed, who signed a four-year, $76 million contract after being acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, struggled with injuries and appeared in just 12 games over two seasons with Tennessee.

Sneed began the 2025 season on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from knee and quad injuries. He played only seven games last season, finishing with 26 tackles and three passes defended before suffering another quad injury in Week 7 against the New England Patriots. The injury sidelined him for the final 10 games.

General manager Mike Borgonzi acknowledged the frustration at the scouting combine, saying Sneed was undergoing rehab on the quad injury. The Titans had already signed defensive backs Alontae Taylor, Cor'Dale Flott, and Josh Williams to restock their cornerback room. Sneed, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, was drafted in the fourth round in 2020.
