Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is dealing with a high ankle sprain and is unlikely to play the rest of the preseason for the Arizona Cardinals, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Sunday. Earlier, Mike La Fleur declined to specify whether Love's ankle injury was high or low. "It's an ankle, so we'll keep it at that," he said.

Love played 23 snaps Thursday night, rushing 11 times for 58 yards and catching three passes for 14 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders. La Fleur said Love would miss this week and be reevaluated next week. The Cardinals hope he can be ready for Week 1 in Los Angeles against the Chargers.

La Fleur praised Love as a "quick learner," noting how he stayed grounded during the game and gained confidence. He also mentioned rookie quarterback Carson Beck is "day‑to‑day" as he recovers from rib soreness sustained in the Hall of Fame Game.

The coaching staff is monitoring both players closely, aiming to protect their development while preparing for the regular season.
