Calvin Austin III Signs $4.5M Giants Deal After Steelers Exit

Free agent wide receiver Calvin Austin III is signing a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million with the New York Giants, according to agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln. The move comes after the Giants lost Wan'Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans in free agency. Austin, who played his entire NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, becomes one of the few players from their 2022 draft class to find a new team.

Austin's journey to this contract has been marked by perseverance through injuries. The former fourth-round pick missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury and has battled shoulder issues, including one that sidelined him for three games in 2025. Despite standing just 5-foot-9, Austin has built a reputation as a scrappy, fearless receiver who can play both outside and in the slot.

In three seasons with the Steelers, the Memphis product amassed 1,110 yards and eight touchdowns on 84 catches. His 2024 breakout season saw him record four touchdown catches and 548 receiving yards, averaging 15.2 yards per reception. Austin's ability to make plays after the catch and his speed as a deep threat should provide the Giants with a versatile option in their receiving corps.
