Broncos' Top 4 Needs After Free Agency: Tight End, Linebacker, DL, RB

The Denver Broncos enter the NFL draft with four major roster holes after a quiet free agency period. Despite trading for Jaylen Waddle to boost their offense, Denver's defensive needs remain pressing. The Broncos were the last team to sign an outside free agent, waiting until March 16 to add safety Tycen Anderson to their roster.

Tight end stands out as a glaring weakness, with the current group combining for just three touchdown receptions in 2025. No Broncos tight end averaged more than 9.8 yards per catch, and Evan Engram ranked 36th among 38 tight ends with at least 40 targets. With their first-round pick traded to Miami, Denver could target a tight end in Round 2.

Inside linebacker and defensive line also need attention. Denver released Dre Greenlaw after he missed nine games and signed only two linebackers in free agency. The defensive line took a hit when John Franklin-Myers left for a three-year, $63 million deal with Tennessee. Running back depth remains questionable after J.K. Dobbins' foot injury limited him to 13 games.
