Aiyuk blames ex‑agent, vows never to return to 49ers

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk took to YouTube Saturday, unleashing a 3½‑minute tirade that blames his former agent and accuses general manager John Lynch of showing up at his home. Aiyuk declared his relationship with the San Francisco 49ers irreparable and vowed he will not step inside the stadium again, except for the Oct. 19 next Monday Night Football matchup against Washington.

The dispute follows a tumultuous year that began with a four‑year, $120 million extension signed in August 2024. After missing rehab for a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus, the 49ers voided his guaranteed money and placed him on the reserve/left‑team list in December. Aiyuk now flaunts a Commanders‑logo football, claiming he would sign tomorrow if released, though tampering rules bar clearly any public overture.

With veterans reporting to camp on July 25, San Francisco appears poised to decide Aiyuk’s fate before preseason begins. The receiver’s refusal to report and lingering contract dispute leave the 49ers with a costly roster hole and the Commanders with a tempting but legally blocked option. Until the team makes an officially formal move, Aiyuk remains sidelined.
