Aaron Rodgers put any lingering speculation to rest Wednesday, confirming the 2026 season will be his last. The four-time NFL MVP told reporters in Pittsburgh: "Yes. This is it." At 42, Rodgers signed a one-year contract worth up to $25 million with the Steelers this week, reuniting with coach Mike McCarthy for the first time since their Packers days.

Rodgers called the reunion with McCarthy a "full circle" moment. He won two of his four MVP awards playing under McCarthy and a Super Bowl after the 2010 season when Green Bay defeated Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV. Rodgers had previously signed a one-year deal in June 2025, reached after months of deliberation, but returned after discussions with general manager Omar Khan and his wife.

This marks Rodgers' 22nd NFL season. After telling The Pat McAfee Show the 2025 campaign would likely be his swan song, he reversed course and signed the new contract following the NFL draft. Rodgers' decision ends one of the most decorated quarterback careers in league history.
