Williams Back for Game 6 as Thunder Seek Series Win

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams returned to the lineup for Game 6 of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs after a three‑game absence. The left hamstring strain that sidelined him in Games 3‑5 was cleared, and he entered the game with 4:13 left in the first quarter. Williams has never come off the bench since Dec. 10, 2022.

Williams was upgraded to available minutes before tip‑off and first checked into the game at five minutes remaining, joining teammates in layup lines. Oklahoma City kept the starting lineup from Game 5, slotting Jared McCain into Williams’ usual wing spot. The Thunder aim to close the series on home floor.

Williams’ 2025‑26 season has been injury‑marred, with only 33 games played after a Grade 1 left hamstring strain and a right wrist surgery that missed 19 games. Despite limited minutes, he earned third‑team All‑NBA honors last year, contributing 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in the playoff opener.

The Thunder’s path to a title hinges on Williams’ durability. If he stays healthy, Oklahoma City can shift focus to defense and depth, while the Spurs must counter his playmaking. With the series now tied, every minute Williams can play will shape the final outcome of the Western Conference.
