Victor Wembanyama took a detour to Alaska after All-Star Weekend to witness the northern lights, calling the experience "the best thing I've ever seen." The San Antonio Spurs star forward returned from the trip amazed, posting photos on Instagram of the aurora borealis display that left him in awe of nature's spectacle.

"It's just something that looks so out of place," Wembanyama said after the Spurs' 131-91 blowout win over the Philadelphia 76ers. "It makes you understand all the legends, all the folklore and beliefs that people have had for thousands of years." The 21-year-old described the show as "a historic, maybe once in a lifetime event, even for northern lights chasers."

On the court, Wembanyama's performance was equally impressive despite taking just five shots. He finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and six blocks in a plus-41 performance. Five of those blocks came in the first half, marking the fourth time this season he's recorded at least that many blocks in a half. The rest of the NBA has combined for only three such halves this season. The 22-year-old is averaging 23.7 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks this season.
