Philadelphia 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey has been diagnosed with a tendon injury in his right pinkie finger and will be re-evaluated in three weeks, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania. The All-Star starter was injured in a collision with teammate Adem Bona during Saturday's loss to Atlanta, immediately grabbing his hand and heading to the locker room.

The injury comes as a significant blow to Philadelphia, which has fallen to eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Coach Nick Nurse initially reported no broken bones after X-rays and an MRI, but specialist reviews revealed the tendon damage. Maxey sprained the same pinkie last season and is having a career year, averaging 29 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 2 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.

Without Maxey, the 76ers are 1-2 this season, highlighting his importance to the team's success. Philadelphia is 33-28 with their star guard, who remains the NBA's only player with 100 steals and 50 blocks this season. The regular season ends April 12, leaving limited time for Maxey to return before the playoffs.
