Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson confirmed his stay in the NBA draft, agent Aaron Mintz of CAA Basketball told ESPN. The 20‑year‑old, a third‑team All‑American, remains projected as a top-20 selection after a strong combine showing. Anderson said the opportunity fulfills a lifelong dream and he’s ready to compete at the highest level.

At the draft combine Anderson ranked third among shooters, converting 73.7% of attempts and hitting 27 of 30 shots off the dribble. He logged a 5.25‑inch wingspan and a 40.5‑inch vertical, impressing four NBA teams during pre‑draft workouts. His college stats—18.5 points, 7.4 assists per game and 41.5% from three—placed him third nationally in assists.

Anderson’s decision leaves a void for Texas Tech, prompting coach Grant McCasland to add high‑scoring transfers Dra Gibbs‑Lawhorn and Cruz Davis, plus recruit Dakari Spear, to replenish the backcourt. The Red Raiders, fresh off a 19‑6 season and an Elite Eight run, now face uncertainty without their All‑American point guard as they eye next year’s NCAA tournament.

Internationally, Anderson shone at the FIBA U‑19 World Cup, averaging 17.3 points and 6.6 assists while guiding Germany to a silver medal and earning All‑Star Five honors. He also collected gold at the 2018 U‑18 EuroBasket and 2022 U‑16 European Championships, and received a senior national team call‑up for EuroBasket. Those experiences bolster his readiness for the NBA.
