Suns GM Brian Gregory expressed confidence that Miles Bridges' off-court issues are in the past during the forward's introductory press conference. Bridges, 28, acknowledged mixed fan reactions but said he takes full responsibility, has undergone counseling and therapy, and prioritizes being better daily.

Phoenix acquired Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and 2027 second-round pick from Charlotte for Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick on June 28. Gregory's relationship with Bridges dates back a decade to Michigan State, where owner Mat Ishbia played and coach Jordan Ott worked.

Bridges pleaded no contest to felony domestic violence in 2022, was suspended 30 games (20-game credit for sitting out 2022-23), and faced dropped protection order violation charges in 2023. On court, he averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists last season for the play-in Hornets.

Gregory called Bridges a "perfect fit" for Phoenix's gritty identity. Bridges joins a core including Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and Mark Williams on a 45-win playoff team. He aims to earn trust from teammates and fans.
