Phoenix Suns center Oso Ighodaro has agreed to a three-year, $29 million contract extension, his agent Erika Ruiz of Primera Sports told ESPN's Shams Charania on Sunday. The deal will kick in for the 2028-29 season and run through 2030-31.
Ighodaro is set to earn $2.2 million this year, and the Suns will pick up his team option for next year, worth $2.4 million. The Suns acquired Ighodaro from the Trail Blazers on draft night in 2024, after the Marquette product was selected with the No. 40 pick.
Ighodaro, 24, played 17 minutes per game in his rookie season for Phoenix before becoming a rotation staple last season. He averaged 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 22 minutes, starting 24 games.
With starting center Mark Williams set to miss multiple months due to shoulder surgery, the Suns will rely heavily on Ighodaro and second-year big man Khaman Maluach. The extension gives Phoenix stability in the middle as it prepares for the season ahead.
