The Detroit Pistons clinched their first Central Division title since 2007-08 with a 127-116 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday. The win caps a remarkable turnaround for a franchise that went 14-68 just two years ago and lost a league-record 28 consecutive games.

Led by All-Stars Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren, the Pistons have surged to a 55-21 record. With Cunningham sidelined by a lung injury, Duren dominated the Raptors with 31 points on 12-of-13 shooting and nine rebounds. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff praised Duren's unique versatility, calling him 'a different kind of big' who can space the floor and post up effectively.

Daniss Jenkins, who began the season on a two-way contract, has stepped up admirably in Cunningham's absence, averaging 18.6 points and 6.9 assists as the starting point guard. The division title ends one of the worst periods in franchise history, following a decade of futility after their 2004 championship run. The Pistons now turn their attention to the playoffs, where they aim to build on last season's first-round appearance.
