Lamar Odom DUI Case Plea Deal

Former NBA champion Lamar Odom is expected to enter a no-contest plea in his Las Vegas DUI case. The plea would reduce the original driving under the influence charge to reckless driving. Odom, 46, was arrested in January for allegedly speeding, failing to stay in his lane, and driving under the influence.

According to the arrest report, a trooper observed Odom speeding and switching lanes without signaling. Upon being pulled over, Odom reportedly had bloodshot eyes and smelled of marijuana, though he denied drinking alcohol and claimed his passenger was smoking. Field sobriety tests were deemed unsatisfactory.

Odom previously pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in Los Angeles in 2013, receiving three years of probation. This latest legal development comes years after his highly publicized near-fatal overdose in 2015. His NBA career included two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010.
