Jonathan Kuminga made an immediate impact in his Atlanta Hawks debut, scoring a season-high 27 points in a 119-98 victory over the Washington Wizards. The high-flying forward, acquired from the Golden State Warriors at the trade deadline, showcased his athleticism with thunderous dunks and timely 3-pointers.

Kuminga's performance came after he fell out of favor in Golden State, where he played in just seven of his last 38 games. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 draft averaged 12.1 points per game during his limited time with the Warriors before being traded along with Buddy Hield for center Kristaps Porzingis.

The 23-year-old from the Democratic Republic of the Congo played nearly 25 minutes despite missing his first six games with Atlanta due to a knee injury. His strong showing, which included seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals, provided a glimpse of his potential as the Hawks look to make a playoff push.
