Durant, the 37-year-old four-time scoring champion, needed just 27 points to eclipse Jordan's 32,292 career points, achieving the feat with a corner three-pointer in the fourth quarter. The Rockets' star, who entered the night 21 points shy of the mark, sank the shot with less than five minutes remaining to move past the Bulls legend. Durant briefly raised his arms in triumph as the home crowd erupted.

Durant now sits at 32,294 points, having already passed Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) and Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) earlier this season. His next target is Kobe Bryant (33,643) in fourth place. The Rockets commemorated the achievement with a video tribute before the final play, featuring highlights of Durant alongside Jordan's iconic moments, as fans rose to their feet.

Durant, in his 19th NBA season but sidelined in 2020, downplayed the significance of the record during a post-game interview. 'It's cool, but it's hard to take in when you're still on the journey,' he said, emphasizing his focus remains on the season and team goals. Rockets coach Ime Udoka acknowledged the milestone's importance while praising Durant's continued dedication to improvement.
