Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the NBA All-Star Game due to a calf strain, marking his absence from the showcase event for the first time in a decade. The two-time MVP hasn't played since injuring his right calf during a January 23 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The Bucks officially announced Thursday that Antetokounmpo would not participate in Sunday's game at Inglewood, California.

San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox has been selected as Antetokounmpo's replacement on the USA Stripes team. Miami's Norman Powell, who has Jamaican heritage, will move from the USA Stripes to fill Antetokounmpo's spot on Team World. Despite missing the game, Antetokounmpo will still attend All-Star weekend festivities, including coaching in the Celebrity Game alongside brothers Thanasis and Alex, plus Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts.

Antetokounmpo, who had been selected as an All-Star starter for the 10th consecutive season, is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.6 assists through 30 games this season. His absence is a significant blow to Team World, which loses one of its marquee players. Fox's selection marks his first All-Star appearance, providing a bright spot in what has been a challenging season for the Spurs.
