Anthony Davis committed to the Washington Wizards for at least one more season despite the team's 17-65 record in 2025-26, the worst in the NBA. "I want to be able to compete where I am," the 33-year-old said, praising the organization's foundation while joking about his contract: "Yeah, I'm under contract. I love my money."

The star forward was acquired from Dallas in February along with Trae Young from Atlanta in separate deals. Davis sees potential in Washington's young core, saying the franchise "has the talent in place to build a competitor" despite the team's third straight season with 64-plus losses.

Davis continues recovering from a sprained finger and plans to meet with Wizards management about their contender plans. "They know that I want to win," he stated, acknowledging the difficulty of transforming a perennial loser into a championship team after experiencing losing seasons throughout his career.
