The star forward was acquired from Dallas in February along with Trae Young from Atlanta in separate deals. Davis sees potential in Washington's young core, saying the franchise "has the talent in place to build a competitor" despite the team's third straight season with 64-plus losses.

Davis continues recovering from a sprained finger and plans to meet with Wizards management about their contender plans.
