Free‑agent guard Collin Gillespie is set to re‑join the Phoenix Suns on a four‑year, $48 million contract, sources told ESPN Saturday. After going undrafted out of Villanova in 2022, he spent three seasons on two‑way deals before earning a one‑year roster spot last summer. His agents Jordan Gertler and James Dunleavy sealed the pact as free‑agency opened. The deal shows Phoenix expects long‑term impact.

Gillespie’s breakout 2023‑24 season reshaped his value. He smashed the Suns’ franchise mark with 232 three‑pointers, appeared in 80 games and posted career highs of 12.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.2 steals per outing. Versatile at both guard spots, he complemented All‑Star Devin Booker in catch‑and‑shoot and off‑dribble looks. His shooting split—90 catch‑and‑shoot and 90 off‑dribble threes—placed him among a select group league‑wide.

The deal cements the Suns’ commitment to a gritty, home‑grown core that helped push Phoenix back into playoff contention. Retaining Gillespie avoids a costly free‑agency chase and gives coach Frank Vogel a proven shooter who can stretch defenses. It also frees cap space for other moves. With his contract secured, the Suns now lock in a key piece for the next stretch of the season.
