J.B. Bickerstaff will coach in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game after the Detroit Pistons secured the top record in the Eastern Conference through Feb. 1. The honor marks his first All-Star selection as a coach and rewards a remarkable turnaround.

Just two seasons ago, the Pistons won only 14 games. Bickerstaff guided them to last year’s playoffs and now has them competing with the league’s elite. Their 32-11 start trails only the surging Oklahoma City Thunder, showcasing a dramatic organizational rebuild.

This year’s All-Star format includes three teams competing in four 12-minute games. Bickerstaff will lead one squad, with the top two teams advancing to a final. His coaching elevation reflects Detroit’s rapid rise and validates last season’s strong performance that earned him second in Coach of the Year voting.
