Anthony Edwards led Team Stars to victory in the revamped NBA All-Star Game, earning MVP honors after a competitive showcase that broke from the traditional East vs. West format. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard scored 32 points on 13-for-22 shooting with nine rebounds and three assists, edging out Kawhi Leonard for the award.

Rather than the usual conference matchup, the league split players into three teams: Team Stars (young American talent), Team Stripes (veteran Americans), and a World team. The tournament-style format featured four 12-minute games in a round-robin format. Victor Wembanyama set an early competitive tone by leading the World team with 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks in the opening game.

Leonard caught fire in the final game, scoring 31 points on 11-for-13 shooting to lead Team Stripes to a 48-45 win over Team World. Edwards' Team Stars ultimately claimed the championship with a 47-21 blowout in the finale. The Houston Rockets' Kevin Durant praised the format change, noting it brought more competition than previous years. Edwards expressed support for keeping the format next year in Phoenix, saying the three-team setup made players compete more intensely.
