Boston Red Sox designated hitter Masataka Yoshida left Saturday's 4-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates with left hamstring tightness.

The 33‑year‑old hit a double down the right‑field line in the third inning, but a noticeable limp appeared as he neared second base. He immediately jogged to the dugout and was replaced by Anthony Seigler.

Yoshida noted that the last time he injured his hamstring while playing in Japan it cost him about a month of games, but the pain is in a different spot than that injury. He will undergo tests when the team returns to Boston.

He was batting .272 with five homers and 28 RBIs coming into Saturday's game. The 33‑year‑old has played the past four years for the Red Sox after coming over from Japan in 2023.
