Center fielder Trent Grisham left the New York Yankees' 3-2, 10-inning loss to San Diego on Friday night due to right hamstring discomfort. Grisham drew a walk from Walker Buehler in the second inning and was thrown out attempting to steal second base. He was replaced after the top of the third inning.

Rookie Spencer Jones moved from right field to center field, while Heliot Ramos entered the lineup in right field. Grisham entered the game hitting .211 with 18 homers and 59 RBIs.

Grisham played with the Padres from 2020 through 2023 before being traded to the Yankees along with Juan Soto in a seven-player deal on Dec. 7, 2023.
