Reds shift Myers to IL, bring in Pagán and Johnson

Cincinnati placed outfielder Dane Myers on the 10‑day injured list Tuesday after he bruised his left shoulder crashing into the right‑field wall. The injury occurred during a backhanded catch of Andrew Vaughn’s drive in the fourth inning of the Reds’ 5‑3 loss to Milwaukee. Manager Terry Francona said X‑rays were clean but Myers was taken to the hospital for pain.

The club activated reliever Emilio Pagán from the 15‑day IL, where he recovered from a left hamstring strain. Pagán, 2‑1 with a 6.43 ERA and six saves in 15 outings, last appeared in the majors on May 5. Right‑hander Zach McCambley was optioned to Triple‑A Louisville, and utilityman Ivan Johnson was recalled after posting a .290/.388 line with nine homers in 55 games.

Myers had been a steady contributor, hitting .256 with three homers and 14 RBI in 63 games, so his absence creates a hole in the outfield and lineup. Pagán bolsters a bullpen that has struggled, while Johnson adds speed and defensive flexibility off the bench. The roster shuffle gives the Reds a ready‑made replacement package for the next stretch.
