Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero made history Wednesday night, becoming the youngest player since at least 1900 to homer in six consecutive games. The 22-year-old launched a 425-foot shot off Kansas City's Seth Lugo in the first inning for his 24th homer this season.

Caminero surpassed Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., who homered in six straight games at age 23 in 1993. Only Jack Clark, Brian McCann and Ronald Acuña Jr. previously homered in five consecutive games before turning 23. This feat marks the first six-game homer streak since Rafael Devers accomplished it in May 2024.

The surge has produced eight homers over six games for Caminero, who will celebrate his 23rd birthday Sunday. His power display gives the Rays a significant offensive boost during a critical stretch. Only Carlos Pena had previously homered in six straight games for Tampa Bay, achieving the feat in June 2010.

Caminero's historic run places him alongside baseball's elite sluggers and provides the Rays with legitimate middle-of-the-order power as they chase playoff positioning in the AL East.
