The Cleveland Guardians erupted for seven home runs in a 13-4 rout of the Minnesota Twins on Monday night, with six homers coming off All-Star starter Joe Ryan. The power surge was unexpected for a Guardians team that entered the game tied for the third-fewest homers in the majors with 94.

Petey Halpin and Rhys Hoskins each went deep twice, marking the first time since 2019 that two Cleveland players homered at least twice in a game. Halpin, batting .194, hit his first two major league homers, while Hoskins (.177) added solo shots. Brayan Rocchio and Travis Bazzana also connected as Cleveland hit six times in the first four innings against Ryan.

The six homers allowed by Ryan are tied for the most by a single pitcher since 1900, one shy of the all-time record of seven set by Charlie Sweeney in 1886. Ryan surrendered a career-high 10 hits and eight runs over four innings, the second-most runs of his six-year career. Patrick Bailey added the seventh homer off Woo-Suk Go in the seventh inning.

It was the sixth time in the franchise's 125 seasons that Cleveland has hit at least seven homers in a game, and the fourth such occurrence across MLB this season.
