Brayan Rocchio delivered a dramatic two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give Cleveland a 6-5 win over Chicago, snapping a three‑run deficit. The Guardians (46-42) edged the White Sox (45-41) by a hair in the AL Central race, taking the series opener and narrowing the gap to less than a percentage point.

Pinch‑hitter David Fry added a solo shot in the seventh, cutting the lead to 5-4. Chicago’s Grant Taylor walked Rhys Hoskins to start the ninth, then Rocchio took a 99‑mph fastball down the right‑field line for his sixth homer of the season. Reliever Tim Herrin retired the side in a perfect inning, sealing the comeback.

Cleveland’s bullpen—Daniel Espino, Shawn Armstrong and Herrin—combined for four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit. Earlier, Sam Antonacci’s RBI double and a bases‑loaded walk gave the Guardians an early 2-0 lead. The victory pushes Cleveland to the top of the division and forces Chicago to chase a win in the next three games.
