Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Blake Treinen suffered a season-ending shoulder injury while warming up in the bullpen during a 4-3 win over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed Treinen felt the issue on one pitch and made a painful facial expression. The 38-year-old reliever is scheduled for imaging and will be placed on the injured list, ending his year.

Treinen was reinstated from the IL on September 2 after missing time with right elbow inflammation since June 20. In his sixth season with Los Angeles and 12th overall in the majors, he posted a 3.64 ERA with 31 strikeouts over 36 appearances and 29 2/3 innings. Roberts called the injury "really unfortunate," noting Treinen had dealt with similar issues previously.

The Dodgers will add a player for Sunday's regular-season finale before their five-day break ahead of the first round of the playoffs.
