Kansas City Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone will compete in the Home Run Derby in Philadelphia on Monday. Caglianone, 23, leads the Royals with 14 home runs this season, nine of which came in June. He is the third player confirmed for the event, alongside Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero and the Yankees' Ben Rice.

Despite having only 21 career home runs in two seasons, Caglianone is recognized for his raw power. His average home run distance of 418 feet is tied for the major league lead among players with over 10 homers. This marks his first appearance in the Home Run Derby, and he was not selected as an All-Star.

Caglianone is batting .258 with 33 RBIs in 85 games this season. He becomes the sixth Royals player to participate in the derby, following notable names like Bo Jackson and Salvador Perez. His inclusion highlights his emergence as a power threat for Kansas City.
