As the MLB pennant races head to the homestretch, which teams have the easiest -- and toughest -- paths to October? We found the remaining strength of schedule for every contender by looking at the winning percentage of the clubs left on their regular-season schedule. Here's who has the most and least favorable September matchups in each league.

In the American League, the Rays face a brutal slate with series against the Mets, Astros, Yankees, and Phillies. The Orioles have a mix, including the Red Sox and Yankees, while the Astros draw the White Sox and A's but also the Braves and Mariners. The Rangers and Red Sox have moderate paths, but the Yankees close with the Mets, Rays, and Orioles.

The Guardians and Twins have favorable schedules, but the Blue Jays and White Sox face tough stretches. In the National League, the Phillies and Braves collide repeatedly, while the Cubs and Brewers battle in the Central. The Dodgers and Padres end with tough divisional games, and the Diamondbacks face the Phillies, Astros, and Padres.

ESPN analyzed the remaining opponents for each contender, highlighting the Rays and Phillies as having the toughest roads, while the Guardians and Cubs may have easier paths. With September matchups crucial, every game counts as teams jockey for playoff positioning.
