Miyu Yamashita successfully defended her LPGA Maybank Championship title on Sunday, beating China's Yan Liu by two strokes. The Japanese golfer carded a final-round 68 to finish at 22-under 266, securing her fifth career title and second of the 2025 season. Yamashita, who led from the second round, maintained composure down the stretch despite Yan's challenge.
Yan finished alone in second at 18-under 268 after matching Yamashita's 68 in the final round. Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and amateur Marisa Tojai tied for third at 15-under 273. Australia's Robyn Choi rounded out the top five at 17-under 271.
With this victory, Yamashita adds to her season highlight, a dominant nine-stroke win at the CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton in August. The LPGA Tour's late-season Asian swing concludes next week with the Toto Japan Classic outside Tokyo.
