The WNBA's salary cap is set to surpass $10 million by the end of the new collective bargaining agreement, sources told ESPN. The cap will reach $7 million in 2026, up from $1.5 million in 2025, representing a dramatic increase from the $1.3 million cap that began in 2020.

Under the pending seven-year deal, the supermax salary will start at $1.4 million in 2026, up from $249,244 in 2025. The average salary will climb to around $600,000, while the minimum salary will exceed $300,000. These figures mark a significant jump from 2025 levels when the average was $120,000 and the minimum was $66,079.

The agreement includes a nearly 20% revenue share across the deal's length, though specific details remain unclear. The WNBA and WNBPA reached this landmark agreement after negotiations that focused heavily on revenue sharing and player benefits. The deal must still be ratified by the WNBA board of governors and WNBPA player body.
