Serena Williams has overcome a recent knee issue, clearing her to play women's doubles at Wimbledon alongside her sister, Venus. The pair, aged 44 and 46 respectively, are scheduled to contest their opening-round match on Saturday. Organizers delayed the match to allow Serena additional recovery time following a singles loss.

Their first-round opponents are Camila Osorio and Solana Sierra. This match remains the only unplayed first-round women's doubles fixture at the tournament. The All England Club has not yet assigned a court, but indicated it will be played on a show court after 4:30 p.m. local time.

Serena sustained the knee problem during her singles exit against Maya Joint, her first appearance at Wimbledon in four years. Tournament director Jamie Baker confirmed the delay aimed to give Serena 'as much time' as possible to recover for the doubles competition. Venus competed in mixed doubles Friday with Kevin Krawietz, losing their match.
